Therapeutic / Deep Tissue Massage

The Ruby Spa places emphasis on our clients’ holistic wellness, which is why we combine and offer massage therapies with Acupressure, Reflexology and Trigger Point Therapy and so on. We apply these various manual techniques in Deep Tissue Massage to alleviate the pain and to release stress of the clients.

In the field of Eastern Massage, Acupressure is a practice in traditional Chinese medicine that focuses on rebalancing a person’s Qi, or life force, and healing the body and the mind. Instead of inserting tiny, thin needles at certain points of the body by a licensed acupuncturist, we apply thumb pressure to major points at various meridian channels.

In the domain of Western Massage Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy works through the knots in your muscles and relieves the stubborn pain. A trigger point in a muscle could be actively painful or it could manifest no pain at all unless touched. More often, it could radiate pain somewhere else. For instance, some headaches can often be traced to trigger points in upper back. Trigger points on the upper back and shoulder muscles can radiate a pain in the neck; and trigger points in the gluteus medius are often a principal culprit to cause lower back pain. That is why, a great deal of lower back pain could be relieved quickly with proper attention to gluteus muscle groups.

Stimulation of specific points on the body surface with the intention of obtaining therapeutic effects has been used for thousands of years in many traditional healing systems. The application of physical pressure associated with the different layers and depths is the key for influencing the functional capacity of the body to correct physical and energetic dysfunctions. Clients with chronic pain may find physiological benefit from managing the pain and discomfort with this type of pain relief manual manipulation method. If you’ve been struggling with pain, discomfort, or stress, then we recommend you try our Deep Tissue Massage.
